I will be earth, you be the flower.
You have found my root, you are the rain.
I will be boat and you the rower.
You rock me, you toss me, you are the sea.
How be steady earth that is now a flood?
The root is the oar afloat where has blown our bud.
We will be desert, pure salt the seed.
Burn radiant love, born scorpion need.

'player name: Dunquareiel (Dun)
'contact: PM
'how you found us: I can't remember. It was years ago!
'other characters: Dunquareiel and Riley Black

'name: Venea Zephyrius
'nicknames: Ven, Vennie (Valen), Aya, and "The Virgin Goddess" (though no one would dare call her that in her presence
'age: Nearly 1,000 years old.
'gender: Female
'race: Human on both sides. Drow from her mother's side. Her father was said to be distantly descendant of elves.
'sexual orientation: Heterosexual
'occupation: Goddess of Air

'appearance:
Sienna Guillory

Venea is very light in all aspects of her appearance. Her skin is very fair with a golden tint, and her hair is unnaturally platinum. These platinum locks fall just past her shoulders and are usually pinned up, leaving only a few stray strands to be tucked behind her rather small, pointed ears. Her generally friendly eyes are a grey-green, complimented by thick, light eyelashes. With effort, they can appear extremely intimidating beneath her angular brows. Her nose is straight, but not unusually or significantly pointed. The lips beneath it are thick and rather dark compared to her exceptionally light skin and hair.

She is not short, at about 5' 9", but does not appear to tower over many people. Most men, and a few women, are still taller. Being able to travel and do other generally physical tasks by using her magic has left Venea without much muscle. Since she is a lover of leisurely walks, her legs are fairly strong, but she is no physical match for any sort of warrior opponent. Instead she appears to have the womanly shape of a lean hourglass with a comfortable amount of cushion-like flesh where it ought to be. She appears to weigh about 145lb.

Venea's wardrobe consists of mainly of gowns that drape over her frame quite freely. Many are held up by gold or silver clasps at her shoulders. Loosely fitted garments suit her well as she walks in an appropriately graceful way. Harshly contructed, angular, and/or constricting clothing simply doesn't suit her well. She also prefers not to wear shoes so her heels are a bit rough. When she does wear something on her feet, it is usually of a sturdy cloth that still allows her to move freely. Cloth boots are her most common footwear choice.

'weapons:
Venea finds little use in weaponry as she is quite the pacifist. However, she does carry a staff occasionally. It is wooden and painted white. There are a few bits of silver fillagree, but other than that it is quite plain until it reaches the top. There the wood has been woven to cradle a tinted crystal. Her powers are usually enough to protect her.

'armory:
Like weaponry, Venea rarely has any use for armor as she fights little. She prefers to dress in free clothing rather than being held down by heavy armor.

'personality:
General approach to life. . .
Venea is a very free spirit. She prefers not to hold grudges or become attached to materialistic things as that prevents her from progressing in her long life. It's more difficult to always be angry than is to remain aloof. Trying to stay positive doesn't always work for her, however. It angers some people when she continuously points out the bad aspects of a situation, but problems require more attention than things that go according to plan. In her defense she says she is "realistic" not pessimistic.

Typical attitude. . .
She has a fairly gentle demeanor unless someone does something really offensive, and she is a painted picture of altruism. The years that she has served as a deity have caused her to gain better control over her emotions, but she is still perfecting that art. Her selflessness is reputable regardless of her occasionally irritable attitude. Wherever she feels she can help, she tries to, and she is kind in her own fashion. . . not always soft spoken and reserved. Tough love isn't rare from her. It depends more on what she believes people need to hear. It isn't always about what they think they want to hear. Most understand that, however they may feel about her words immediately after hearing them.

Hesitant to fight. . .
It has become clear to her that war only brings hate, and that brings more war. With more understanding, she hopes people can unite under a common cause to keep peace amongst each other (something that seems impossible at times, even in her own city). Endless fighting has solved nothing as far as Venea is concerned- hence the fact that she is never really eager to fight anyone herself or make war. Some consider her "passiveness" a fault, but luckily Venea is rarely put in a situation where she must prove these people wrong.

Anger. . .
As said, she is gentle-natured unless given a very valid reason to be angry. One has to do something unexcusable to drag out her vicious side (though it isn't difficult to simply irritate her). She is rather articulate, and won't hesitate to verbally tear a person apart when given reason. Venea loves to debate, but hates to be wrong. If she is proven wrong, she often continues on to make herself look like a fool. She just doesn't give up... which tends to annoy some. When uncomfortable she is still shy as she was when she was young, but when she comes out of her shell she is significantly more open and clearly strong willed. She would say strong willed- some find her arrogant.

Confrontation. . .
Fighting isn't the answer in her mind, but that doesn't mean she will simply step down when there is a disagreement. If someone does something she doesn't like, she won't wait a year before making it known just to avoid a confrontation. This doesn't mean she will always win the fight. She has her own flaws as does everyone, but she clearly doesn't like being messed with. More often than not, there are views she has not considered before starting something.

Loyalty. . .
When it comes to loyalty, Venea has never had a problem with it. If she ever was to fully trust someone she would protect them with her life, but it isn't amazingly simple to earn Venea's trust. Loyalty from her followers earns them loyalty in return, as is clearly seen in her dealings with them. She treats her followers with as much respect and kindness as she can unless they give her a reason not to because she values them greatly.

Romance. . .
She certainly desires a loving relationship, but she hasn't had much luck (in fact, some daring people have called her "The Virgin Goddess" in the past). It is logical to assume that this is partially due to the lack of love in her parents' relationship. She wanted love for them as a child, and now she wants it for herself. Yet it was this that made her "put up a wall" as some would say. She saw what her parents had, and that is all she has really witnessed of "love". So, it is her belief that storybook romances are purely fictional (rationalizing? wink.gif ). She still constantly tells herself there is more to it, that it isn't always the way her parents had it, but this argument hasn't been enough to really convince her.

But if love was entirely fictional, why would so many claim that it is the most wonderful thing the world has ever seen?

Even if Venea allows herself to believe in emotionally intimate relationships for a moment, she has come to the conclusion that a woman in her position simply cannot afford to maintain one. It's dangerous for all those involved, bad for her public image, and it would put her in a vulnerable position that couldn't possibly be worth the trouble.

------In short, to those in need she is kind. Respect is a must. If she is angered, and/or you have wronged her or someone she cares for... don't expect her to sit back and take it. As for distinct flaws she can be considered arrogant, blunt, and a bit vain.

'history:
Venea was born in Istien City, but raised in Crissaegrim (now Liresul) . She was brought up as an only child in a middle class family. Though she was quite the bright child, she did not enjoy reading or writing, but she was very interested in philosophy. She preferred being outdoors roaming around the mountain city. Even at a young age she was an introvert, speaking little but thinking a great deal. Nothing pleased her more than the quiet moments alone with nothing but the whispering wind. She had a small bond with her mother when she was young, but that changed as the years passed.

Her father and mother married young, and Venea was born soon after they wed. Her father, Barel, worked as a silver smith in Liresul. Her mother, Arcaili, was a seamstress when Venea was young. When she grew older, Arcaili found herself working as a messanger traveling often. Barel and Arcaili were married so young, they didn't have a solid relationship (it wasn't even a marriage of convenience). They did not fight around their daughter, but often ignored one another. They rarely spoke, and were often in different parts of the city during the day. Venea was affected by their lack of love. She also found herself avoiding the pair who created an unpleasant atmosphere when they entered a room together.

When she grew older, her father died from an illness that was said to be uncurable. No one knew what it was. He was bed ridden for months before finally passing in the night. Her mother lived quite a long time as she was part drow, but Venea has already outlived both parents. No one knows how her mother died. She went missing when carrying a message to the Imperial City, and was announced dead months later when she could not be found.

Once they were both gone, Venea found herself often looking through scrolls and books in the inner city libraries. She had developed a taste for historical information that she loathed as a child. Reading there was a serenity only matched by the tranquil peaks of the mountain.

The humans residing on the mountain passed before her eyes. Not immortal, or long living. She stopped physically aging before her 30th year. She watched others grow old and die while she remained the same. It was a hard thing for her to take. This lasted all of her mature days leading up to the present. It will continue on until her dying day.

*Some may question her hate for war. It was simply an acquired distaste. There were no traumatic events involved in the formation of this opinion, but many events since then have solidified her beliefs regarding war and such. She learned over the years the effect of battles, and decided on her own that it was not the way to solve problems.

How did Venea become the air goddess?: It was not an instant realization. The clues came to her as she neared her 100th year. (Which to her could be considered years before 1000 years. Time seems shorter than it actually is to her.) Perhaps the first indication was the way the wind cradled her as she stood at the witheringTemple of Air. Venea had been blessed with ways of controlling the free winds though she did not know for many years.

Favourites:
Favourite Food: None
Favourite Drink: Water does just fine
Favourite Music: Lute
Favourite Pastime: Walking aimlessly

How old they appear: Mid twenties
Skin tone/type: Quite smooth aside from a very faint scar on her right cheek, and rough patches on her heels and knees. If she were to be out in the sun for a long time she could be burned, but living in the shadow of a cloud-surrounded mountain, it is not much of a worry.
Health: Very good
Habits etc: Venea tends to wander off in her own thoughts. Sometimes not paying attention to conversation.
Attitude: Very free and independent. Caring though it is not always obvious. Comes off as arrogant to some.
