It was a blisteringly hot day in the City of Fate. The sun blazed like a great eye overhead, the sorching rays from it pelting the marble and stone city mercilessly. The sky was an endless colbalt blue, not a cloud in sight, and stretched from horizon to horizon across the wide plains.
Calixto sat under a crumbling building's balcony, on the very lip of the fissure that clove the city in two. His grey eyes stared up at the balcony above him, lying flat on the cool stone. His feet were but a foot away from the lip of the ravine itself but he cared little. Today was a day for not moving. At least he'd given Khora the slip. That was good news, at least. Stupid woman, always dogging his steps. He sighed to himself, closing his eyes and pushing a few stray strands of silver-white hair from his pale face. Next time he did this, he was going to bring a cushion for his head. This solid stone was starting to hurt.
The God rolled his skinny shoulders, the long, thin spines clicking against the ground.
A mockingly light breeze pulled the heat around a little and generally mucked his hair up for a few short seconds and he scowled, unpicking the strands from his horns. His tails flicked in aggitation at the disturbance then he realised just how hot he was again and lay completley still.
There was a time where he would have changed Fate to make himself cool... But he couldn't do that now. That would be it, not more chances. And that was something he could no longer afford. And so he lay there, melting into a pool of cowardly demon-god, wishing that he could muster enough energy to return to the cool of his temple.

As Fayt walked through the torn city of Y'landara.. her green gaze shifting from side to side. This was the city of Fate? Strange.. she would have thought the place would look slightly a bit more.. glamorous. But.. it didn't. She sighed. That's what she got for making impressions based on people who hadn't been here for centuries. The city was a wreck. Not that Fayt didn't mind. In fact, the wrecked city appealed to Fayt somewhat, perhaps because it represented her current state of mind. Shattered.
Fayt kicked an idle rock. The sun blaring in her face. It wasn't so much the heat that bothered her, as it was the light. The light burned her pale skin, and made her appear brighter then she really was. Wearing black didn't help that much either. And since Fayt had furry wings, they were really hot as well. However, she did not let the heat bother her. She was a tolerant being, and she would live one way or another. Her tail swayed behind her, patiently, and calmly. Fayt looked around. Eh. A nearly torn down city oughta have a furnace around here she could use.
Fayt simply wandered around for a few hours, trying her best not to let the heat bother her. But as sweat began to drip down her face, she couldn't help but sit down, heaving a little as she rested beneath the shade of a crumbled building. Okay.. maybe today is not a good day for him to go furnace hunting. She sighed a bit, pulling out a glass cat, and dangled it in the light. The glass split the light into several different colors, and she watched somewhat amused as reds and blues and greens danced within the shadows.. before she hid it with the depths of her pockets again. She leaned back on the walls, a loud thud being heard as her wings slammed against it. She felt a someone pained feeling in her wings, but ignored it. She closed her eyes for a moment, chuckling a little at her own luck

Calixto's eyes snapped open at a loud banging sound. He hastily sat up, overheating forgotten, and peered around. Whatever it was, it had been close. He got to his feet warily. Was it the shadows again? Those things that crept around his city, never quite in your line of vision? He'd noticed they'd been getting a little bolder of late but... Surely not in this sunlight? He squinted and crept out of his little hideway, away from the ravine and towards where the noise had come from, feeling a little shaken and timid. It was rare for anything to move in this city, let alone make a noice.
Something glinting reflected the sun and it made him blink. Something bright and something shiny. Calixto ducked down behind a fallen pillar and peered over it. Nope. Still couldn't make out what, or who, it was. He frowned, the hot sun beating down on his bare shoulders. He could feel them crisping as he stood there.
The God crept forwards again, behind everything he possibly could, until he saw the figure sitting there, leaning against a wall and looking at something shiny, her wings crumpled up behind her. He couldn't decide whether he was afraid or annoyed. Who was this and what were they doing here? Didn't they realise Y'landara was empty?
Unless it was a Fate follower.
Surely not. There were none left. There couldn't have been. He stood suddenly to try and sneak closer but, in his clumsy and stupid ways, managed to kick a pebble. Now, this wouldn't have been so bad had it simply rolled away. But no, the pebble caused a mini avalanche and he landed heavily on his behind with an unconcealed 'oof'. Calixto panicked, immediatley and staggered to his feet to make a get away, completley exposing himself as he did so.
Yes, he really was the most useless god. Especially when it came to concealing himself or his intentions.

Fayt leaned back on the wall, as she tried to sleep peacefully away, maybe when she woke up, the place would be much cooler. Her mind drifted away in slow meditation, her thoughts wandering. At first it drifted to the peaceful memories of her once-alive lover, bringing a smile to her face. And then her mind drifted to various locations she had visted. Talafen was a strange place indeed, if she recalled correctly. Then she bitterly recalled Uuranor. Too bright for her tastes, and the home of her murderous brother. His name put a bad taste in her mouth..
Suddenly a loud avalanche of noise was heard. Now.. I'm not sure if you ever snuck up on a cat and creeped it out, well.. Fayt had a similar reaction. She heard a loud noise.. her cat eyes widening crazily. She let out a loud cat screech, and quickly jumped 4 feet in the air from her current location, and darted away from the area, tripping and skidding her skin. Damn. That hurt. Way too much. She groaned a little and looked back, seeing a pale figure with horns and a tail moving away from her.
Fayt probably had the most disturbed face ever had on her face. What the hell was that?! Fayt grimaced a little as she watched it run. It was watching her. Her of all people. Damn it all. Why couldn't people take the hint that Fayt was meant to be left alone? Of course, she didn't look too well either.. The fur on her tail and wings were fluffed out, like a cat's, and Fayt staggered to her feet, dusting the dirt off her clothes. She felt something sharp.. and reached her pockets, feeling a sharp pain.. as she pulled out a handful of glass. "God damn it." she shouted. "Look what you did." she groaned sadly, taking off the part of her wardrobe that held the glass and shook it, the remains of the cat scattering on the ground. Fayt then proceeded to pull the various glass bits from her hand.

At the woman's shout, he flinched, stopping and twisting round to look at her from where he was. The shiny thing glittered in her hand. Instantley, the God felt remorseful as she blamed him and he felt obliged to edge back towards her, a frown on his face. What was it? The shiny thing? He'd just feel worse if it was something precious...
As he got as close as he dared, his eyes wide with the urge to just leg it back to his temple, he saw the glittering shards of glass. Bits of something that had been broken.. Curiosity peeked, he gulped a lungful of air, looking everywhere but at the other demon's face and shivering though he was still boiling hot from the blasting sun.
"Uhm. Uh... What... was that?" Calixto asked, licking his dry lips subconsiously as he did so, vainly trying to combat the sun's drying effects. "Uhm.. Sorry." He offered as well, a scared expression mixing well with a curious one.
"Who're you?" His voice grew a little bolder at this question. It was his city after all. She was the intruder, not him. "What are you doing here?"
Run! Run! Run! Said his instincts and he pushed them to one side, noticing the bristling layer of thin fur on the other demon's wings and becoming momentarily fascinated. Then he felt dizzy from the heat and blinked blearily. Maybe running could come later.
Without waiting for an answer, he dragged himself to the nearest patch of shade which he just about fitted into, and flopped tot he floor with a vague moan. It really was too hot and he just couldn't deal with it. He had too much on his mind as it was.

Fayt groaned, muttering a variety of curses under her breath. I'd state exactly what she was saying, but I'd believe that would be a rather.. rude thing to do. That was how bad she was cursing. As she efficently beat all the glass out of her robe, she wrapped it around her again, making sure to cover all skin. She wasn't exactly the happiest of people when it came to her heritage. She stepped forward, seeing the scared little demon thing. It was scared? It should be scared. If Fayt wasn't so damn hot, Fayt would have tore this man's throat out.
Fayt picked up several pieces of glass, pieces she knew would resemble a figure. He wanted to see? She'll show him. She stepped forward, her cat gaze narrowing dangerously. "You... are pathetic. Do you know that?" she snapped bitterly. Her fur slowly began to resume proper position, as she was no longer surprised, but annoyed. Her bladed tail swung agitated besides her. She leaned forward.. her eyes burning with anger.
"My name, is Fayt. Laugh as you will, I don't care. I'm here, because I want to be here. I don't see anyone telling me otherwise, and if they did, I don't think I care, what do I have to worry about? I just want a place where I can quietly make things in peace." she said slowly. "And this.." she said, holding the glass shards in her hand, "This was my glass cat.." she said, remodeling the glass shards to somewhat resemble the figure she had created. "That took me three days to make!" she snapped viciously, and clenched her fists, breaking whatever glass shards remained, and releasing them from her hands, letting the glass drop to the ground. Her hand was now officially red, coated in crimson blood.
She gave an aggravated sigh, and looked at Calixto with a menacing look in her eyes. "Now who are you?" she asked, attempting to calm down. Accidents happen. She really shouldn't fly off the handle.. but oh god how tempting it was.

Calixto looked up as she approached and attempted to shuffle backwards, though he was foiled by the rubble behind himself. He just stared up at her for a moment before his eyes drifted to the flicking blade of her tail. He paled slightly, eyes wide. As she showed him the cat, he felt a small twinge of guilt, even though he knew it hadn't really been his fault. She was making him feel guilty. Calixto's eyes flicked as he subconisously looked for a way to escape from this predicament. Then she asked his name. He twitched, looking at the bits of fallen glass mixed with her blood, sitting on the floor infront of him. Without answering her question, he reached out and picked up a few of the shiny fragments, being extremley careful not to cut himself. They were exceedingly pretty, even broken, to his eye and he wondered how someone so... abrupt... could have made something so delicate.
"Three days..?" He said to himself, in wonder, at the little shard, before suddenly seeming to realise who was looming over his again.
"Fayt...? Uhm. Sorry. It looked like it was... really pretty. I was just curious about why you were here and that's why I came over--" he cut himself off from the rambling and frowned. Hang on a second.. This wasn't how it was meant to be! 50 years of groveling and begging and generally cowering before every other creature on the planet! No. No more. Calixto got to his feet, and put on his best angry face, glaring at Fayt with his grey eyes. "Watch your mouth." He said sharply, trying to sound braver then he felt and folding his arms tight across his chest. That was more like it. More like before. "I don't see where you go blaming me for!" Yet with all his sudden bravery, he couldn't help letting his eyes wander to that deadly tail, his own tail flicking round his ankles uselessly.

Ah, the big difference between Fayt and Calixto. Calixto pretended to have a backbone. Fayt.. did have a backbone. And she would not be pushed down by this man. Especially after giving her the heartattack he did. She only met his gaze just as equally as he did her. Her green looking into grey. She gazed up at him unflinching, bowing up like a cobra meeting it's foe. Her tail bristled, and it snapped angrily between her legs, fist clenched, one red.
"I'm blaming you because you startled me! I was peacefully about to take a nap and you, being the stalker you are.." Fayt said accusingly poking his chest, fear not bothering this woman. Nothing would seem to deter her of her anger. "Startled me. By being a clumsy fool!" she shouted. "You freaked me out, I fell, and now that cat is broken. Three days of work gone to waste!" she shouted. "Just like this city." she growled. She was pushing her buttons. She knew, but it wasn't like this man was going to do anything. And even if he could, even if he was a god.. Fayt refused to back down.
She looked him up and down. Blond hair.. horns.. tail. Kinda reminded her of Myou. And he was scrawny. How long had he been out here? He was a demon, obviously, but what kind of retarded demon would actually stay here in the ruins? Alas, she had more to discover yet. "Now who are you? And what are you doing here?"

He flinched at the poke, showing his true colours.
"Hey. HEY. There's nothing wrong with this city." He pouted, almost but not quite stamping his foot. The she asked who he was. He put on his very best scowl now.
"I am Calixto. God of Fate. And you'd better watch your tone, demon." Okay, it didn't sound very threatening. Calixto really hoped she didn't laugh. Or... even worse, didn't beleive him. Gods, he'd been out of this game far too long. He just couldn't quite work out what to say these days, no matter what the situation. After a moment, he dropped to a crouch and picked up all the bits of cat she had dropped, every single little glittering shard he could find. Calixto could feel her presence above him and it made his shoulder spines bristle. Then he stood slowly, squashing the bits og glass into his palm, wincing slightly as a few of them cut.
The god took a deep breath. This would be the first time he'd worked the Fates since he'd been restored to his partial power. Calixto closed his wishy-washy grey eyes and when he opened them again, they were faded to almost completley white, even the pupils. His breath shuddered a little in his frame. He coulds tap the magic but.. but.. not enough. It felt like he was being held back by invisible string. All of existance hung before him, yet he could only brush his fingers against it. Calixto reached back 5 minutes and he changed the pocket that the cat had been in. He suddenly gasped and bent at the waist, panting. How out of practise was he?! GODS. Ridiculous. Yet he brought his hand to his chest and opened his fingers. There, nestled in his palm was the glass cat.
Puffing, Calixto straightened. "Don't... shout.. at... me.." He stated between puffs, offering her the glass cat. "And... don't... insult... my... city.." He exhaled sharply and leaned back against the wall. He most certainley would need to practise after 50 years out of it.

Ever had a moment where you felt really proud of yourself and then felt insanely guilty about it afterwords? Alas, that was exactly what Fayt was feeling right now. She stepped back a bit, letting the man twist and writhe trying to tap into his magic.. Fayt's eyes only narrowing.. oh great.. what was he doing now? She smirked a little. Fayt never had this much problems with her skill. Fayt growled, her tail now flickering nervously a little. It was almost going to lash out, to strike the man before he became a decent threat. God or not, Fayt could take him!
Until he held out his hand, and revealed her glass cat, perfectly intact.
Boy. She felt like an ass now.
She carefully removed the glass cat from his hands, inspecting it with upmost dilgence. Everything was there.. all the muscles, the facial features.. all there. Fayt kept the blood from reaching her cheeks. Great now why did he have to go make her look like an asshole? Anger still boiled within, and she watched as Calixto continued to have an asthma attack on the wall. ".... no. You are not my parents. Nor are you my brother. Or anyone I really care about." she said in a low tone, as if still declaring her independence, and acting as if the act was unfazing her. She held up the glass to the sun, watching the colors shimmer once again. Damn it. She couldn't keep this thing now. It'd be like some sort of weight she'd carry around. Damn man, the last thing she needed was a reminder of her personality.
"Here, Just keep the damn thing." she snapped. She put the glass cat carefully back into his hands, to keep it intact.. still having some respect for her art. "You touched it." she said, as if that somehow justified her actions.

She tookt he cat from him and he smirked slightly. A minor victory...? Then she gave it back. Damn. Maybe not. He slid down the wall so he was sitting yet again, peering at the beautiful glass cat, a somewhat serene expression on his face. He looked up at Fayt, squinting a little against the sunlight.
"Well... It is beautiful. And. Very well made." He looked back to it again, finding the different colours dancing around them fascinating. "I didn't know you could.. Do this with glass." He frowned slightly before licking the little cuts on his palm absently.
"So. Miss Fayt. A place for you do work, huh? And you pick an abandoned city with no people, no complete buildings except a temple... Are you sure you.. came here for a place to work?" It was idle talk. Fate worked in mysterious ways. Oren had come back, after all, by a sheer twist of Fortune. He stowed the glass cat somewhere about his person before shuffling to his feet again but this time with no intention of sitting down again. The god stared at Fayt long and hard, without meeting her eyes for a few moments, before reaching into the depths of a long sleeve and pulling out a chain of silver, intricatley woven and laid with tiny, pin-tip sized jewels. He held it up as if comparing it to Fayt then shook his head to himself and put it away. Further sleeves and pockets gave way to more items of sparklyness yet none he deemed right, before finally, he pulled out a plain yet beautiful bracelet of silver, with a single, small jewel set in it. He threw it at her, expecting her not to accept it anyway.
"A fair swap, I think." He stated simply. "Now. Why are you really here?" He paused. "And think about your answer. Don't just... Get all angry and shout without any... whatsit... Uh. Meaning." Okay, so he'd tried to be all godly and wise and philosophical and he'd nearly got there that time. He hoped she udnerstood what he meant.

Fayt looked at the god, a slightly skeptical look in her eyes. Was he really a god? He was pretty damn bad at it. Fayt groaned, blinking her eyes, looking at him with slight disdain. Surely he had something a bit better. As he complimented her glass figure, Fayt couldn't help but stand up straighter, and slightly more taller, feeling slightly proud of her glass cat. Fayt looked down at him, and watched him get to his feet. She nodded her head, trying her best not to loose her temper so quickly.
Fayt sighed frustrated. Work.. well obviously not. Fayt had other intentions, but she doubted he listen. "Fine, you caught me." she said, raising her hands in an apprehensive fashion. "I just wanted to be alone. So, there. Happy now?" she asked the man, ice still lingering in her tone. Of course, Fayt was still mad. She wanted to be mad. And she was not going to give this man any way to make her.. unmad. She caught the bracelet idly in one hand, and looked at it. Quite a considerably nice gift. Many would have been flattered by it. But Fayt.. to her, it meant nothing. And she was still trying to be mad at this man! Damn it! Why was he giving her reasons not to be mad!?!
Fayt grasped it firmly, throwing it up in the air, and catching it in her hands. Fayt growled, looking at him with a suddenly 'bright' idea. She took it, and chucked it back at his head. "I don't want anything from you." she snapped viciously. "I don't need it." Fayt pipped.

Expectedly, the bracelet hit him and he made no move to dodge it. Calixto actually seemed fairly surprised it hit him and gave a startled yelp as the thing bounced off his head and clanged away. Fine. Two could play at that game. He glared at her now and his fingers twitched as he adjusted fate very slightly. The bracelet was now in his hand. He had nudged Fate so he'd caught it rather then let it hit him, yet it was obvious it had hit him as well. Fate - most certainley the most confusing magic in Meliora.
He stared at the bracelet for a moment, still panting slightly from all this use of his magic before slipping into a milder version of his previous trance, his eyes fading a little as he did so. Fate skipped sideways and he was in two places at once for a brief second before being behind Fayt now.
"You're really mean, y'know?" He said slowly, feeling the beginning of a headache coming on, though whether from too much sun or too much power use, he was unsure. "But then again. You did come all the way out here. And Venea will probably kill me if I let you die in the heat. She'd call it .. uh... murder or something." He waved the hand with the bracelet in dismissivly as if it were not important. "You're coming to the temple with me." Then he turned to face her, holding up one finger as if for silence. "And before you moan and whine, and beleive me, I know about moaning and whining, I want you to come and make me something from glass. I'll pay well."
Of course he didn't want something of glass. Fayt intruiged him. As he stood there, he swayed lightly, mentally reaching out to her and picking at the edges of her Fate. Potential. Yes, definate potential. Something felt different about her then a lot of other creatures he'd met. He looked like he'd completley zoned out, waiting for her answer, his eyes slipping half closed where he stood. "Mmmhm.." He said absently then sighed deeply. It really was so hot.

Fayt watched as the god played with his magic, preventing it from hitting him. Of course, a smirk came on her face. She knew it hit, that was all the gratification she needed. However the smirk did not last long, and it wasn't before her face returned to the ever-common scowl she had on her face. Fayt looked to him, not really caring about his opinion from her. She just looked up at him and said two words she had muttered so commonly, it was habit. "I know." She smirked a bit with that reply, but it disappeared.
Suddenly, Calixto appeared behind her, and she quickly turned around, startled. Calixto then stated his demands, she was to go back to the temple with him. Back to the temple? Him? No. Oh no no no. There was no force on this planet that would make that happen. "I'm sorry, but I'd have to decline your generous offer. And personally, just like the rest of the gods, they can go fall off a cliff and die for all I care." she snapped. "Right now that's including you." she added. He then held up his finger, as if to hold her tongue. Oh how this man agitated her.
"Umm.. what if I don't want to? I don't need money, I don't care. And who said I wanted to make something for you? I gave you a glass cat. That should be enough. And you are lacking a furnace." she also added. Because if by some odd twist of fate, she did end up at the temple, she wanted to make sure that she wouldn't have to be using a small fire to heat up sand. That would not be cool.. at all. She looked up at the man, growling softly. Damn bastard. The sun beamed down on her white hair and dark form. She mentally kept the discomfort at bay. She heard a muffled sound come from his mouth, and a skeptical face was made.
"What did you say?" she said.

He really didn't listen to a word she said, completley zoned out. There was a few minutes of silence before he shook himself, a little shiver running over his entire frame before he looked at her tiredly and spoke.
"Well... Let's just say, Fayt. There's something about you. Something. Fate is.. uhm... what's the word. Mixed? I don't know. It's in your head. It's wispy and curly and at the edges, but it's there. Ever been in a place by coincidence? Or.. Thought something was going to happen... And it did?" He paused, twiddling his hand around in the air as he looked for words, as if trying to catch them so he could speak them.
"And we do have a furnace. The temple has an old one round the back, you know. In the stone-stable-shed things. I don't know if it's still work-able though." He shrugged his skinny little shoulders before stretching out, like a cat. Calixto shrugged again. "Well. You can come and lose nothing, or you can uh. Stay here and be curious or not curious or just never find out. Right. What's the point in cutting off your nose to spite your face, hmmm?"
The god frowned lightly. "Whether you come or you don't, I'm going. I'm too hot. And it's at least 20 degrees cooler in my temple. So. Yeah. Do what you want." He turned and set off at a slow pace towards his temple, the sun beating down on his back. As he moved, he plucked the little cat from his pocket and turned it in his hands. Fate. Most definatley. Fayt. He smiled half heartedly, watching the sunlight refract through the glass with interested eyes. So pretty. Calixto didn't look back to check if she was coming. He had a good feeling she might. Yet. If she didn't, hell, he'd just twitch Fate so she ended up there 'by accident'. Ohh, maybe he could see if she really was a natural. Make something bad happen. If she could naturally, instinctvley twitch Fate, this would be the place she'd be most able to tap the power. The city of Fate itself, cloven in half by fortune. He smirked, looking ahead to the stone and marble mass of the Temple.

Whether or not Fayt realized it, she fell right into the trap of Calixto's reverse psychology. He almost sounded like he didn't want her to come. So Fayt, to be a rebellious asshole she was, decided she would come, to spite and anger him. Fayt despised the fact that he refused to let her get mad. She wanted a reason to hate the man. So, she figured if she followed him, she'll find a reason to hate him, one way or another. Maybe if she was lucky, he'd leave her alone.. once he realizes that there was nothing facinating about the young demon at all. Fayt quickly jogged up beside him, shooting him an annoyed look.
"Yeah. It happens to everyone. It's called 'deja vu.'" she said with a sarcastic tone in her voice. "Ever heard of it? It happens quite often amongst todays society, or at least mine." she quipped. She followed behind him, her eyes slightly narrowing. "So is that your temple?" she asked, looking up at the building. It was quite hilarious, perhaps the only building left standing in the city at all. She looked to him, "Why do you keep your temple intact, why don't you just let it fall apart, like everyhing else around here?" she asked him quietly. "Calixto? Calixto?" she repeated, and then looked at him, suddenly annoyed. "Calixto are you even listening?" she asked. Fury began to build up in her again. If this was her brother, she'd probably pop him one right there.
She looked at what he was staring at. Wouldn't you know it? It was that glass cat she had made. Fayt rolled her eyes, go figure. Of all the things he could have been distracted with, it had to be something she wouldn't destroy out of self respect for her art. Her green eyes burned, was he really that easily distracted? All it took was a shiny glass cat. God. No wonder Ylandara was a dump. She looked idly around.. but then again, perhaps it was best for the city. She strided forward. She wasn't going to wait on him. When he actually got to the temple, she would talk with him there.

His eyes flicked back as he realised she was following him and a little smile spread over his face. Ahah, well played, well played. Gosh, this one was easy to poke on to the right direction, wasn't she? He gave no indication of his pleasure at her obeying (albeit in a twisted, not-really-obeying kind of way) and kept his face forwards before his eyes drifted down to the little glass cat in his hands again. He was silent for a long time after she finished speaking, that little smile not leaving his face. Then she overtook him. He stopped, alarmed, glancing about as something flicked it's way around in the shadows, before he trotted after her, his tail flicking behind him. He stowed the cat in his pocket swiftly as he moved and pattered along just behind her left shoulder, a look of vague disinterest suddenly falling over his grey eyes.
"Deja vu? You know waht that is? That's like... when Fate coughs. Haha. I've never had it. I see it coming. I see the big cough.. thing." He frowned softly. "You don't get Deja Vu. You get a link to Fate you can't avoid." He brushed against her stream of Fate as he spoke, gently trailing fingers over the last half a year of her life, leaving tiny, invisible finger prints before stretching towards her immediate future. He stopped talking now, looking at her with curious eyes. Would she feel it? That would be a good test of her undiscovered talent.
Calixto breathed a little sharper for a moment before suddenly slamming all of his mental capacity and power into her Fate, her past, making it ripple and wobble (though it would not change in any way). Everyone was linked to Fate, even if only to their own. A normal person wouldn't feel it. Someone with a closer, even a tiny bit closer, affinity for the powers of Fortune would most definatley feel it. Calixto cackled a little for a moment. If she hadn't felt it, it would look extremley strange. He picked at his hair in silence, trying to look innocent, awaiting a response - or lack of one, with impatience.
The temple loomed ahead, a great mass of marble and stone and cracks and dust. He stared at it lovingly. Home sweet temple.

"When Fate coughs huh?" she said with an unamused look. What a good way to compare an element that everyone somehow has a hand in. She turned her head away with a smirk. Now she gets his attention. She felt somewhat victorious. When Fayt wanted attention, she would get it one way or another. Thankfully Fayt would not have to kick this man to get his attention. Which made her life easier.. somewhat.
Fayt suddenly felt something. She couldn't quite explain it herself what it was. Only that it was strange, perhaps the most peculiar of emotions she had ever felt. It felt as if someone had invaded her mind, and it made her fur bristle, like static on her fur. Her eyes widened a little, and goosebumps rose on her skin. Oh god, she was beginning to hate this feeling. She felt her memory waver, fuzzing in and out unpredictably. She couldn't stand it. Soon she was shaking a little more, and finally, she couldn't handle it anymore.
Fayt stepped back, shaking her head, and clutching her hair in a desperate fashion. Anger erupted, and her wings flapped wildy, as she snarled at Calixto, her fanged teeth bared, her fur bristling like an angered cat. She arched her spine a little, her tail stiff. "I don't know what sick games your playing but knock it off! It's not funny. And if you don't, I'll tear you to shreds right now!" she threatened. But as the feelings began to fade.. so did Fayt's tense mood.
As her muscles slowly began to relax, her tail waving much more slowly and less anxiously. Her fur slowly stopped bristling, and her wings eventually relaxed, and fluttered lazily at her sides. However, the face of paranoia and anger still remained. "Don't play dumb. I know what you did." she said accusingly. She then stomped inside the temple her eyes skimming cautiously. Dumb god.

Ahh, perfect. A good reaction, better then he'd expected. But when she threatened violence, he backed off, instaley letting go of her Fate, almost reluctantley. The God had a horrible feeling that he was about to get punched in the face, so he braced himself... Only to hear her walk off into the temple, leaving him outside - and not bruised.
He scuttled after her, the sudden cool washing over him and making him feel even more light headed then he already was. He smiled softly and trotted to the end of the main hall, where the sunlight from the broken back window washed over a plain stone altar. The altar was just a block of stone, really, the marble covering long since worn away. The demon paused, pulling the glass cat from his pocket and placing it in the centre of the altar so the sunlight shone through it, multicoloured light playing around the room, running up and down the walls. He stepped back for a moment, admiring it for a few seconds before glancing around and locating a broken piece of marble. He took it back to the altar and sat the cat up on a little plinth so it got the most of the sunlight.
"Ahh. Perfect." He said, mostly to himself, pushing his hair out of his face. He then seemed to remember Fayt was there with him.
"There is something importantish I need to talk to you about." He said, turning on one heel to face her, folding one arm across his chest and resting his other elbow on it, gesturing vaguly with his free hand. "You're probably going to ignore me so I'm going to say it all now just so you don't interupt. If you interupt. I'll repeat it over and over until you listen." He took a deep breath of the cool air.
"You, Fayt, have a certain thing when it comes to the past. And the future, I'd wager, if I poked it. You could feel me messing with it. That's not a natural instinct, that's a gift. I bet if I poked Oren's past, he'd feel it too-- Oh wait, you don't know who that-- Oh. Just forget it uhm. Yeah, where was I? You have a talent. For Fate. And as much as you're obnoxious and mean to me, I think it would do you well to learn to control what you have. Incase you break something by accident and I have to come cleaning up after you. Because that would waste my valuable time and energy."

Fayt entered the temple first, looking around with a little indifference then her attitude on the outside. She sighed a little, leaning back on a pillar, before she saw something catch her eyes. Is.. is that what she thought it was..? It was a cat. Fayt looked around cautiously, making sure the god was no where to be found, before leaning down and making cat call noises.. and beckoning the cat her way. Eventually, the cat did come.. and Fayt stared at it, her own tail mimicking that of the cat's.. and she gently leaned forward, and stroked the cat, and then smirked a little as the cat rubbed against her hand affectionately. Suddenly she heard the man begin to scuttle in, and quickly leaped back, pretending as if the cat wasn't there at all. She refused to give the man any sort of material to bash her with whatsoever.
The woman's eyes narrowed, instant bitterness at the moment. She watched as Calixto played with the glass cat, trying to aim the glass just right so that it would dazzle brightly throughout the temple. Oh joy. She should have felt special right then. It was like her art was being shown as part of a gallery. But she didn't. Instead she felt her heart grow even colder with the splashes of color dancing in the temple. It reminded her of a certain twin that used to cling by her side as a child. And also how a certain twin killed her signficant other. She growled a little, and made a scoffing noise of disrespect as the god began to speak. Her eyebrows raised skeptically. He really didn't think he'd buy this.. right
"A talent.. for Fate?" she laughed skeptically. Her voice was dry and cold.. filled with disbelief and apathy. "Are you out of your mind? I have a 'talent' for fate? I think you're out of your mind. I've never exprienced anything of the like. So I don't you have any fear about me 'breaking' anything." she growled harshly. She grimaced, "Now really, what did you have to say?" she said, hoping something more meaningful would come out of her mouth.
